Privacy policy ​

Applies to: the Sometic documentation website at sometic.aitistack.com (the “Site”), operated in connection with the Sometic open-source project by AitiStack (“we”, “us”).

This policy explains what information is involved when you use the Site. It is written for transparency. It is not legal advice.

Summary ​

  • The Site is primarily static documentation. You do not need an account to read it.
  • We aim to collect as little personal data as practical.
  • Client-side documentation search runs in your browser against a local index; search queries are not sent to our servers by Sometic’s own search UI.
  • Published npm packages (@sometic/*) are separate from this Site. Using packages in your apps is governed by the MIT license and your own application’s privacy practices.

Who we are ​

Sometic is an open-source TypeScript primitives and components system. The documentation Site describes how to use the packages. Contact for privacy questions related to the Site: use the channels listed on the public GitHub organization aitistack (Issues or Discussions on the Sometic packages repository).

Information we may process ​

Information you choose to provide ​

If you contact us (for example via GitHub Issues, Discussions, email, or pull requests), we receive whatever you include: name or handle, email if provided, and message content. That information is processed to respond and to improve the project.

Automatically collected technical data ​

When you load the Site, standard web server and hosting logs (operated by our hosting/CDN provider) may record technical details such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamps. Providers process this data to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the Site.

The Site’s documentation search is a local (client-side) index. Search terms you type stay in your browser session for that feature and are not transmitted to Sometic application servers by the search UI itself.

Fonts and assets ​

Documentation fonts are self-hosted on the Site. We do not load documentation typefaces from a third-party font CDN.

Analytics and marketing ​

As of the last updated date above, the Site does not use third-party advertising networks. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in the future, we will update this policy and describe the tool, purpose, and controls.

Cookies and similar technologies ​

Essential cookies or local storage may be used by the Site or hosting platform for basic functions (for example remembering light/dark preference in the browser). We do not use the Site to run a paid subscription checkout.

Your browser may also store cache entries for performance. You can clear site data through your browser settings.

How we use information ​

We use Site-related information to:

  • Deliver and secure the documentation Site
  • Respond to support and contribution requests
  • Understand aggregate traffic patterns (if analytics are enabled later)
  • Comply with legal obligations when required

Sharing ​

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Hosting / CDN / DNS providers that process technical data to operate the Site
  • GitHub (or similar) when you interact with public repositories
  • Authorities if required by law or to protect rights and safety

Retention ​

Hosting logs are retained according to our providers’ defaults and our operational needs, typically for a limited troubleshooting window. GitHub content you post remains under GitHub’s policies and your choices there.

International transfers ​

The Site may be served from infrastructure in multiple regions. If you access the Site from outside the hosting region, technical data may cross borders as part of ordinary web delivery.

Your choices ​

  • Use the Site without creating an account
  • Limit cookies / site data via browser controls
  • Prefer not to include personal data in public GitHub issues
  • Contact us via the repository channels to request correction or deletion of personal data you sent us directly (subject to technical and legal limits)

Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as GDPR or CCPA/CPRA (access, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection). To exercise rights related to data we control from Site contact, use the GitHub organization channels above and describe your request.

Children ​

The Site is intended for a general technical audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Third-party sites ​

The Site links to third parties (for example npm, GitHub, MDN). Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies before using those services.

Open-source packages ​

Installing or running @sometic/* packages in your application does not by itself send usage data to Sometic. Any data your app collects is your responsibility. Prefer secure patterns documented in our guides (for example careful handling of tokens and credentials).

Changes ​

We may update this policy as the Site evolves. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Site after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
